UNS & UPitt held HEAT

Sebelas Maret University in association with University of Pittsburgh holds Higher Education Administration Training (HEAT). The training is divided into two parts. The first part is focused on “Improving Research Excellence” is held on Monday – Thursday, July 4-7 2011, while the second part is on July 11-14 2011.
Prof. W. James Jacob and Prof. John C. Weidman from University of Pittsburgh became the main speaker of the training. The discussion covered the strategy of arranging a clear roadmap, choosing the right research methodology, and some problems in sending articles to be published as International journals.
Approximately 50 participants attended the training, and most of them were UNS researchers. “We should be more confident. I believe that the quality of UNS researcher is competent with foreign researchers. The problem is that we lack of confident. We must begin to send articles to International journals”, said Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Ravik Karsidi, MS.
The second training part will be focused in arranging policies to manage University. The discussion will cover strategic policy in increasing the quality of human resources in University, the increasing quality of graduates, and the development of cooperation with foreign institutions.
