UNS is currently hosting 180 international students from 30 countries including Libya, South Korea, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Serbia, Vietnam, Venezuela, Romania etc. Most of them are studying under the support of various scholarship programs, such as Darmasiswa, Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB), PASIAD and Islamic Development Bank (IDB). However, some of them rely on their own financial support.
Since 2008, Cultural Night has become a tribute to the cultural diversity and a medium to celebrate the multiculturalism in UNS. The participants of the event are all international students studying in UNS.
With the theme “Longing for Home: This is Nice, but This is not Really a Home”, this year’s UNS Cultural Night is inviting international students to express their feeling of missing home and also to remind them that they have a second ‘home’ and ‘family’ here in Indonesia.
