UNS, Tron-E, and IMST Sign Joint Venture Agreement

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Tron Energy Technology Corporation (Tron-E) and PT INKA Multi Solusi Trading (IMST). Tron-E is a company that provides environmentally friendly products with high technical specifications and with excellent safety performance. Tron-E focuses on research on innovative cathode materials, Rechargeable Energy Storage Systems, and E-Bus. IMST is an affiliate company of PT INKA (the Indonesian Railway Industry) that has a core business in the trade sector and aims to fulfill the needs of the railway industry for raw materials, main components, other components, and various needs for non-rail transportation.

The Joint Venture Agreement was officially signed on Wednesday (14/7/2021) through Zoom Cloud Meeting by UNS Rector Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, President Director of IMST Sri Siddiqijah, and Richard Huang from Tron-E.

Prof. Jamal Wiwoho said the three parties had expressed their intention to establish a Joint Venture Company in Indonesia. Later this company will develop various quality electric buses. “The buses are equipped with continuous high-tech innovation, modern production facilities, reliable workforce, market penetration, and strong after-sales,” said Prof. Jamal.

Through this Joint Venture Company, UNS hopes to contribute to the implementation of the national and global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “Our mission is to participate in the implementation of the SDGs, especially those related to clean and affordable energy,” added Prof. Jamal.

Agung Sedaju, the Development Director of PT INKA, also expressed his gratitude to UNS and Tron-E for the trust to cooperate with PT IMST in this Joint Venture Company. “We hope that the research at UNS can support this industry in the future. We still have a long journey. This ceremony is only the beginning. Let’s continue with real actions,” said Agung. Tron-E Malaysia and IMST have previously signed an agreement to build an electric bus prototype in 2020.
